Why I’ve Removed All My Music From Spotify

Right then, I need to get this off my chest once and for all.

I’ve decided to pull all of my music from #Spotify this week, and here’s why:

Frankly, I’m done with the platform and the direction it’s heading. The thing is, my issue is brushed under the carpet and really no one gives a f**k, but I do.

Firstly, it would seem that Spotify now value AI-generated music over supporting real, human artists. I don’t have a large following thank the lord of Spectron, so it’s not a big deal for me to pull music off this platform!

It is sad that they are more interested in avoiding paying creatives than actually helping and supporting them.

That alone is enough for me to step away from the 💩 storm that is, Spotishite!

But what really sealed the deal for me is what the CEO has been up to.

Announcing this week, his company (Spotify) will be investing money in AI-driven military technology, which in essence means they’ll be using artists royalties to fund future wars.

As polite as I can put this. F**k you Spotify… My music is not going to be used to generate revenue for future wars.

As someone who believes in making music, not war, this goes completely against everything I stand for. Music is supposed to bring people together, not be tied to become ‘technologies of destruction’. Makes a good track name actually.

I know many artists out there will stay very quiet and have no say about this issue, “Oh well, it doesn’t affect me.” But I can’t imagine someone, in a war-torn country listening to my music that’s supposed to give them hope, and a reason to continue… on a platform that’s literally funding it’s conflict!

Sounds absurd, right? But not far from what could actually happen in the future, I might add.

No thanks. I’m done, and no music of mine is on Spotify.

If you’d like to continue supporting independent artists like me, here’s how you can do it:

🚀 Grab singles or albums on Bandcamp – you can pay what you want, and we get fairly compensated for our work.

🚀 Follow me on #SoundCloud for work-in-progress releases and new material.

🚀 Stream anywhere else — just not Spotify.

Thanks for riding with me.
